The CIMOL team, young developers from the Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia successfully passed the final round of the Southeast Asia level at the Microsoft Imagine Cup 2017 with the application of their work, the Hoax Analyzer.
Built on Microsoft’s machine learning capabilities, Team CIMOL’s Hoax Analyzer is a web-based app that aims to combat the proliferation of “fake news”. The app is capable of identifying if certain contextual information can be categorized as hoaxes or not.
Indonesia sent a team namely the CIMOL Team with the results of their work "Hoax Analyzer" which was included in the Research and Development (R&D) category. The results of the judging have put "Hoax Analyzer" won the GOLD award in the category.
